Although entering only its third season, the Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic just seems like it's always been here, what with the way it has become an iconic event as hotly anticipated as the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Hockey fans already know that Jan. 1, 2010 and seasons afterward will bring yet more great outdoor moments, even before we learn the identity of the competing teams. When Boston-based sports action portrait artist Brian Fox was commissioned by the NHL to provide the artwork that would become the cover of the official 2010 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic limited edition, game-day program, his vision of what the game has become shot to memory rather quickly.
